Lagoon!!

Last weekend (ok 2 weekends ago ... I"ll update more, I promise!) we went to Lagoon with our best buds, the Starks! We'd be boring without them!

Its Official!

After seemingly endless paperwork, nerve wracking interviews, confidence shaking background and personality tests and one grueling licensing exam...

4th Fail

We stink at Independence Day! We always think we know when and where to catch the best fireworks, but for 2 years in a row, we've been dead wrong. DIDN'T SEE ANY. There were a few at the Cummings' thanks to Caroline and Kate but nothing to "ooh" and "ahhhh" at. Oh well... we'll try again next year. At least Leena wasn't afraid of the little ones! Good sign she might be able to handle the real ones.

We did however have an awesome BBQ Battle with our besties Ben & Brittney. Brittney is an awesome hostess! There were even awards and prizes. We basically swept all catergories with our tuna burgers (http://thetastebudsclub.blogspot.com/2011/07/award-winning-tuna-burgers.html) and wasabi mashed potatoes but no big. ;)

We also took a day trip to Roosevelt to see Wendy and fam, Gungle Kev & Auntie P. Kevin and Paulo have the cutest new puppy, which they named Yuki (Kirk explained that Yuki means "snow" in Japanese! Kevin has spent quite a bit of time in Japan and speaks Japanese too! Try getting them to speak it to each other though... not easy). We fished a bit, ate a bit, and experience a REAL LIFE UTE POW WOW! Totally awesome! Beautiful costumes, amazing dancing, fun food and music. Too bad it was about the temperature of the surface of the sun.

All in all, it was a great weekend, even with out the fireworks!

One down, one to go

Now that all my background checks and personalityare complete, its down to 2 formal interviews ... and bunch more paperwork... before I start Agent in Training. My first one was today. I'd call it a success! Its was more like a prep, for the second one, which is the BIG one. I'd like to get every one I know to do everything they know for good luck and/or divine intervention on Wednesday afternoon. While we're at it, could you also share a little love with me July 1st? I have to take the Utah Life & Health Insurance Licensing exam that day and will need all that positive karma then too.

For my birthday, Wendy took me to California!! How cool is that!? Working 2 jobs, I desperately needed the vacation and Wendy and her brother Kevin never disappoint. Kevin graciously let us stay at his house in LA and showed us round town. TIME OF MY LIFE! I really tried to post about 35 photos with no luck so here are just a couple..

My favorite part was definitely the San Diego Zoo! We spent all day there, we saw every thing! Including...

PANDAS!! 

So cool! Sorry its sideways though, I don't know how to fix that... Did you know pandas have a pseudo-thumb, special for holding bamboo while they chomp it?! This is the older male panda they have at the San Diego Zoo. There's a female and a young male too. I also saw polar bears. And this bear with yellow spots on it face from South America. There's the only type of bear from South America! Did you know that?? I love the zoo. ^_^

April in Review

Kirk and I both celebrated birthdays this month! Kirk went to the Rise Against concert with Chad to celebrate his. Mine was on Easter! So we spent it with Grandma and Grandpa Cummings. Love spending time with family. Kirk got me some awesome TOMS, which I love and have worn nearly everyday since my birthday! They are THE most comfortable pair of shoes you will ever own.
